Artistry, Dedication, and Heart
I’m a Ukrainian circus artist specializing in hair suspension (hairhang), and my work is deeply rooted in my cultural heritage.
I spent 11 years in rhythmic gymnastics, which gave me not only physical strength and flexibility, but also a strong work ethic and endurance. Becoming a circus artist wasn’t my childhood dream — but over time, the stage became my true passion.
I fell in love with the magic of live performance and the connection it creates with the audience.
My journey has taken me across Europe and onto cruise ships, where I’ve performed aerial acts such as straps, hoop, trapeze, and contortion. Since the war began, I’ve been based in Berlin, continuing to grow as an artist and share my work internationally.
With a background in journalism, I try to bring both artistic and intellectual depth into my performances. My act Mavka is especially close to my heart — it reflects my connection to Ukrainian mythology and my desire to preserve and celebrate our identity through the language of circus.
As an artist, I believe silence is not an option. Injustice must be challenged, and art has the power to do so.
As an artist, I believe that staying out of politics is not an option – because art itself is never separate from politics. In times of war, when Russia is waging an aggressive terrorist campaign against my country, it is crucial for me to contribute in any way I can to help Ukraine.
I strive to immerse myself in Ukrainian culture, exploring how it has been systematically destroyed for centuries. I seek to understand it more deeply, preserve it, and share it with the world.
I also take an active part in fundraising efforts and donation drives. So far, I have raised around 100,000 UAH to support Ukrainian defenders. Every contribution matters – together, we can make a difference.
